Intimate Meeting Spaces
We found ways to help areas for company-wide meetings retain their value as quiet, intimate meeting spaces when not in use for larger gatherings.
The site for the project was in the heart of San Francisco, and had incredible 180-degree views of the bay. We took full advantage of these, anchoring the spaces and activities around a large central bar feature. High perches around the glazing were created to encourage workers to move away from traditional desks settings, while presentation spaces were designed with more of a hotel lobby in mind rather than a sea of unused chairs. Large, soft curtains were used in key locations as room dividers, providing necessary flexibility, but also a sense of softness that one usually associates with the home.

The design here allowed the space to have both flexibility and spontaneity, providing for chance encounters and conversations between different groups.
Social zones are dotted throughout the design, forming free spaces for independent work or informal meetings.
